Punjab University CET 2010 Application Deadlines

Punjab University Chandigarh has announced the availability of Application Forms and Prospectus for a Common Entrance Test CET 2010 for admission to MBBS, BAMS, BHMS, BDS, B.Pharma, LLB,B.Sc (Tourism management) and B.Sc (Hospitality and Hotel Administration) , B.Sc. Hons. School) and other courses

 

 

For detailed information regarding qualification/ eligibility condition(s) /reservation of seats/date-sheets/ rules/regulation s/instructions/ combination of subjects/syllabus etc for admission to the above mentioned courses the candidates are advised to consult the prospectus for CET-2010

 

Availability of prospectus and application form: The prospectus and application form for the test is available for sale w.e.f. 17.03.2010 (Wednesday) by hand as well as by post

 

Last date for receipt of completed application form (both by hand/post) at the CET Cell, Panjab University, Chandigarh is 15.04.2010 (Thursday) up to 4.00 p.m.

2 year full-time PGDM, PGDM-IB and PGDM-Finance Programs for batch 2010-12 

Entrance test

A candidate applying for 2-year full time PGDM/PGDM-IB/ PGDM-Finance program should have taken one of the following entrance test 

1. MAT (Management Aptitude Test) conducted by the All India Management Association 

2. CAT (Common Admission Test) conducted by the Indian Institute of Management 

3. GMAT (Graduate Management Admission TEST) conducted by Graduate Management Admission Council.

4. IFIM Business School uses MAT/CAT/GMAT scores for short listing purposes only

Eligibility

 

Candidate should have consistent academic record in classes X and XII. A bachelor’s degree in any discipline under the 10+2+3 system from a university recognized by AICTE/AIU and with minimum 50% marks in aggregate.

 Candidates appearing for the final year bachelor’s degree/equivalent examination.

Those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. However, such candidates must produce a certificate from the Principal/Head of the department/ Registrar/ Director of the Institution/ University, certifying that the candidate is currently in the final year or is awaiting final results and has obtained at least 50% marks based on the latest available grades/marks.

Candidates appearing for the final examination after 30th June, 2010 need not apply. Students with work experience will be preferred for all the programs; PGDM, PGDM-IB and PGDM-Finance. Applicants who hold a valid MAT/CAT/GMAT score are eligible to apply. The cut-off composite/percentil e MAT/CAT/GMAT score shall be notified on the website www.ifimbschool. com

 Admission procedure

IIM/AIMA/GMAC has no role in the selection process or in the conduct of the PGDM/PGDM-IB/ PGDM-Finance program. Students with valid CAT/MAT/GMAT scores and those intending to take the CAT/MAT/GMAT exam in 2009/10 may also apply. Students can apply to IFIM Business School by filling in the application form. Short-listed candidates will be called to go through the group discussions and personal interviews at designated test centers. Final selection will be based on composite parameters to include MAT/CAT/GMAT scores, consistent academic record in classes X and XII and graduation, overall personality, the essay in the application form, extra/co-curricular activities, work experience if any, and performance in the GD/PI. Those with academic distinctions and/or extra-curricular activities and/or substantial work experience will be given additional preference

 

Since the CAT/MAT/GMAT score is only an input in the selection process, it is possible for a candidate with a lower CAT/MAT/GMAT score on account of better performance in other criteria. IFIM Business School reserves total right to assign and/or re-assign students from the PGDM program to the PGDM-IB program, PGDM-Finance or vice-versa, depending upon the availability of a vacancy and/or suitability for the program and/or at the specific request of a student and/or broader institutional considerations and/or any other overriding and/or unanticipated considerations. The decision of IFIM Business School shall be final and binding upon a candidate. The fact of assignment and/or re-assignment shall be communicated to the candidate. The candidate, however, reserves the right of acceptance/rejection as the case may be.

Spot admission

At any time during the admission process, based on scholastic excellence and/or extra/co-curricular activities and/or work experience and supporting documents (mark sheets, proof of eligibility, awards, distinctions etc) and performance in the GD/PI, the selection team holds the absolute right to offer on-the-spot admissions to high scores. In such an event, prospective candidates do not have to wait for a written communication from the admissions office to this effect, but can directly remit the 1st installment of fees as per the announcement. The detailed terms and conditions governing the payment of fees is contained in the page captioned program fee and other expenses.

Application kit

The IFIM Business School prospectus and application form can be acquired in any of the following ways

(i)  by cash payment of Rs 300/- at IFIM Business School, Bangalore

(ii) by post (enclosing a crossed demand draft for Rs 300/- in drawn in favour of centre for developmenteducation payable at Bangalore. The application form can be downloaded from the website www.ifimbschool. com and sent together with a crossed demand draft for Rs 1,100/-

(iii)  from designated branches of IMS learning resources pvt ltd., career launcher

 

Deadline for submission of documents

Candidates appearing for the final year bachelor’s degree/equivalent exam and those who have completed a degree requirement and are awaiting results can also apply.

Such candidates, if selected, shall be allowed to join the program (PGDM/PGDM-IB/ PGDM-Finance) provisionally, only if they submit a certificate from the Principal/Head of the department/ Registrar/Director of the institution/ university certifying that the candidate is currently in the final year/is awaiting final results and has obtained at least 50% marks based on the latest available grades/marks, latest by June 30th, 2010

In any case, candidates must produce all certificate viz class X, XII, graduation (final or provisional) , extra/co-curricular activities, work experience, CAT/GMAT/MAT scores etc from the respective institutions/ universities together with their mark sheet on or before December 31st, 2010

Non-fulfillment of this condition will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission and all remittances made towards the fees shall be forfeited

 

IFIM Business School will not offer admission to any candidate after June 30th, 2010

Admission announcement- 2010 

Doon University was established by the govt of Uttarakhand in 2005 vide its Act no 18 of 2005 as a state govt university. It is a fully residential university. The vision of the university is to become a centre of excellence in chosen areas of studies. The medium of instruction in the university is English. The university announces following courses for the academic year 2010-11.  


The important dates are as follows 

Issue of application forms starts on: 15th March, 2010 

Last date for receiving completed application forms without late fee: 15th May, 2010; with late fee of Rs 100/-: 21st May, 2010

Date of admission test: 13th June, 2010

Commencement of new session: 26th July, 2010 

The dates may be changed at the discretion of the university authorities

School of Environment and Natural Resources

1. Post Graduate courses

M.Sc Natural Resource Management (20 seats)

Eligibility

Graduation in biological sciences or applied sciences from a recognized university with at least 50 percent marks (45 percent for SC/ST)

2. M.Sc environmental studies (20 seats)

Eligibility

Graduation in basic or applied sciences from a recognized university with at least 50 percent marks (45 percent for SC/ST)

M.A. Communication (40 seats)

Eligibility

Graduation in any subject from a recognized university with at least 50 percent marks (45 percent for SC/ST)

Master of Business Administration (40 seats)

Eligibility

Graduation in any subject from a recognized university with 50 percent for general category and 45 per cent for SC/ST category

2. School of Social Sciences  

M.A. Economics (30 seats) 

Eligibility

Graduation with 50 per cent marks (45 per cent for SC/ST) from a recognized university with Economics as one of the subjects or graduation in any discipline with minimum 60 per cent marks (44 per cent for SC/ST)

3. School of Languages  

Integrated five year M.A. courses (Chinese, Spanish, German languages) 20 seats each

Eligibility

10+2 in any subject from a recognized board with 50 per cent marks (45 per cent for SC/St)

 

Centre of examination

Dehradun, Srinagar (Garhwal), Haldwani, Almora, Delhi, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Shillong, Jorhat, Kolkata, Guwahati 

The university reserves its right to change/cancel the centre of examination at its discretion. The examination center mentioned in the admit cards will be final

Reservation

Out of the total seats 50%seats will be reserved for the candidates from the state of Uttarakhand. Remaining seats will be filled up as per merit. The reservation for SC/ST and OBC will be allowed to the applicants of Uttarakhand as per the rules of govt of Uttarakhand. SC/ST candidates from other states will be treated as general category.

How to apply

Prospectus and application form can be obtained by post by submitting a bank draft of Rs 650/- for general categories and Rs 350/- for SC/ST candidates of Uttarakhand, payable at Dehradun in favour of Doon University Dehradun. The forms will also be available from the University office Kedarpur campus/Punjab national bank, Ashley hall branch Dehradun on payment of Rs 600/- or Rs. 300/- (for SC/ST of Uttarakhand) in cash. A copy of the valid SC/ST certificate will be required at the time of issue of the form. The candidates may also contact the university on tele 0135-2533105 for any information.
